Gesture Dating combines real-world introductions with a digital profile. Instead of endless swiping, you share personalized compliment cards with people you meet in real life. A card recipient can scan the QR code to view your profile, optionally take your compatibility quiz, and start a conversation when access is available.
Create your profile with photos, a bio, green flags and dealbreakers. Optionally build a compatibility quiz with up to 10 questions selected from the question bank and your own scored answer choices. Explore the Card Designer, choose a template and compliments, and order cards when your account has the required access. Hand out a card when you meet someone interesting. Recipients can view your profile, choose whether to take your quiz, and message you. Review introductions, quiz results and conversations in Connections.
Gesture Dating encourages you to make a real-world connection first, whether at a coffee shop, an event or anywhere you meet someone interesting. The QR code bridges that introduction with your digital profile, giving the other person a low-pressure way to learn more and decide whether to reconnect.
A valid card link opens the profile access flow. Recipients can log in, create an account, or continue as a guest when guest access is enabled. Recipients can optionally secure their card interaction with a PIN. They can view your public profile, optionally take an active quiz, and use messaging. Guests save an introduction before taking a quiz or messaging; completing the quiz is not required to message.
Scan counts and the last scan time are available for tracked card links. Unique per-card tracking depends on the configured print provider and the capabilities available to your account; some printed cards share a tracking link. Pre-scan notes can help you remember a handout, but shared tracking cannot identify which physical copy was scanned. Review available activity in Connections rather than relying on a scan notification.
Create an account for free. Recipients of cards in the current offer can view an accessible profile and message without signing up. Recipients can optionally secure their card interaction with a PIN. Guests save an introduction before taking a quiz or messaging; the quiz is optional. Older or other card configurations may require sign-in. You can explore the card design preview without paying. Printed cards are purchased through the Card Designer; review the available options and final checkout quote before paying.
Design your cards in the Card Designer, then place an order through Gesture Dating when ordering is available to your account. We coordinate professional printing and fulfillment and ship the finished cards to you. The standard finished business card size is 3.5" by 2". Review the available shipping options, delivery estimate and final quote before paying.
Every card in the current offer has its own tracking link, guest messaging and smart tagging. Pre-scan a card to save a recipient name, where you met and a short note. Older or other shared-tracking configurations do not support individual handout tagging. Individual tracking lets you distinguish card activity rather than guessing which physical copy was used. Deactivating an older shared link affects every physical card using it. Review the available card options in the designer and order flow.
Pre-scanning lets you record context before handing out a card. Scan your own card and log in as its owner to add optional recipient notes and location details. Later, those notes can help you remember the introduction alongside the scan activity. Every card in the current offer has its own tracking link, guest messaging and smart tagging. Pre-scan a card to save a recipient name, where you met and a short note. Older or other shared-tracking configurations do not support individual handout tagging.
Yes. Use the available card controls in your dashboard to deactivate a card link and prevent further profile access through it. You can reactivate it later. If multiple physical cards share the same tracking link, deactivating that link affects all of them, not just one copy.
The card designer and ordering flow show the batch quantity and compliment variants currently available to your account. The guest preview describes a 50-card batch; actual order options depend on the configured provider and account capabilities. Do not assume unlimited generation, arbitrary batch sizes or unique tracking on every card. Confirm the quantity, variants and quote before ordering.
Open Connections to review introductions, quiz answers and compatibility results, then open the available conversation to send a message. A quiz is optional: recipients can also reach the messaging step without submitting one. Guest introductions and chat are linked to the card access context, rather than a signed-in account.
Yes. The compatibility quiz is optional and can be skipped before messaging. A visitor still needs valid profile or card access. Guests must save an introduction first, and guest messaging is available only when guest engagement is enabled for that card. Signing in provides account-based access to connections.
Messages are not displayed on your public profile. Conversation access is checked by the service, and HTTPS/TLS protects messages in transit. Recipients can optionally secure their card interaction with a PIN. That PIN protects the interaction, not profile viewing. Keep the card link and any PIN you choose private. This is not a promise of end-to-end encryption; service providers and legally required disclosures are covered by our Privacy Policy.
Contact our safety team using the Safety Contact page to report inappropriate behavior. If you need to stop access through a card, use the available card deactivation or profile visibility controls. A shared tracking link affects every card using it. Do not assume that an individual conversation block or an in-app reporting control is available in every flow.
Signed-in users can see unread message counts in the app and review conversations in Connections. Do not rely on an email, SMS or push notification for each new message, scan or quiz submission. Guest visitors should return through their card link to check the conversation. If they chose to secure their card interaction with a PIN, they use it to reopen that interaction; viewing the profile does not require a PIN. Configurable delivery notifications are not promised by this FAQ.
Card QR links include a verification token that the service validates before granting card-based profile access. Card status and guest access settings also apply. Keep the complete link private: a valid link can be copied or forwarded, and a QR code is not proof of the scanner's identity. Recipients can optionally secure their card interaction with a PIN; a PIN is never required to view the profile.
Changing protected card identifiers or verification values can cause validation to fail. However, someone can copy a valid QR link or cover a physical QR code with a different one. Check the destination before opening it, never enter credentials on an unfamiliar site, and consult the QR Code Safety Guide if something looks wrong.
Card links use hard-to-guess identifiers and verification values, and public access endpoints apply validation and rate limits. These protections reduce guessing attempts but do not make a shared valid link secret again. Deactivate a compromised card link or change profile visibility if you need to stop access.
Public profile responses are limited to public-facing profile information rather than private account fields such as your email and phone number. HTTPS/TLS protects connections to the service, and access and visibility checks control profile availability. Only include information you are comfortable sharing with people who can access your profile.
Card scan records can include the tracking link, timestamp, a hashed client IP address, browser/device information from the user agent, and city, region or country when supplied. Owner pre-scan notes and optional location details are separate handout information. A scan does not guarantee precise location or identify a particular person. Our Privacy Policy explains wider data use and retention.
Your public profile can show your display name, age, city/region, bio, photos, green flags and dealbreakers. Private account fields such as your email, phone number and shipping address are not part of the public profile response. Review your profile and visibility settings, and avoid putting private contact details into public text or images.
Yes. Set your profile to private using your profile visibility settings to stop public profile access. Available card deactivation controls can also stop access through a particular tracking link. If physical cards share that link, the change affects all of those cards. These controls cannot retract information someone has already viewed or copied.
We do not sell your personal data. We do share information with service providers needed to operate Gesture Dating, subject to confidentiality and security obligations, and may disclose information when required by law. See our Privacy Policy for details; "not sold" does not mean data is never processed by a service provider.
Yes. In Settings, choose account deletion and type DELETE to confirm. The process soft-deletes your account, anonymizes personal account and profile fields, deactivates quizzes and cards, and removes your sign-in identity. This is not an immediate erasure of every transaction, message or scan record. Some records may be retained for service operations, legal compliance, fraud prevention and dispute resolution. Contact the privacy team for data-rights requests.
Our Privacy Policy governs retention: data is kept only as long as needed for service operations, legal compliance, fraud prevention and dispute resolution. This FAQ does not promise a fixed two-year scan-retention period or automatic earlier deletion. Contact the privacy team to request access, correction or deletion where applicable.
Safer Card Sharing
Card links use server-side validation and access controls. Keep your QR link and any PIN private: a valid link can be copied or forwarded. Review your visibility settings and deactivate card links if you no longer want them to grant access.
